Summary
As a intern for Memorial Assistance Ministries Employment Services Young Adults program you have the opportunity to contribute to the health and well-being of your community while gaining invaluable experience. You can explore new career paths or enhance your skills within your current career. If you have special interests or training, we may even be able to connect you to a job just for you!
Responsibilities:
Recruit youth for the young adult’s program.
Create engaging activities for the young adult’s program related to employment services.
Regularly follows up with participants and ensures that all client interactions, classes and other deliverables are properly documented in the client file and in the agency database (ETO) in a thorough and timely manner
• Identifies resources to assist participants with career exploration.
Regularly contribute/update MAM’s Employment Services social media accounts (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram).
Attends meetings, staff events and other MAM functions
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
High School Senior or College Student
Must own a computer
Commitment to the MAM mission.
Participant in our Job Readiness Training (Employment Certification Program)
Have an interest in Human Services, Human Resources, Business Administration, nonprofit, community service experience, or other administrative discipline.
Able to successfully complete an application, and interview.
Demonstrated ability to work with all individuals from all walks of life and treat them with dignity and respect.
Strong interpersonal skills at both the individual and group level; specifically, the ability to listen empathetically to participants and to suggest corrective courses of action persuasively.
Excellent organizational skills with ability to prioritize tasks in an environment with no support staff.
Self-sufficient in MS Office, email, Internet, etc.
English fluency (read, write, speak and understand)
Reliable use of smart phone in order to communicate via email and text message.
