Summary

MAM (Memorial Assistance Ministries), located in the Spring Branch community of Houston, Texas, has an immediate need for a full-time resale associates to work in our warehouse and on the floor of our Re-Sale Store. Some cashier work will be required as necessary.

Our ideal candidate is a person who is looking to work 35-40 hours per week and who finds joy in working in a culture of philanthropy and providing for community needs. All candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.

Our resale associate / warehouse workers ensure that our customers leave the MAM Resale Shop knowing they have had a friendly experience.

These positions do require work on some evenings, weekends, and occasional holidays.

Responsibilities:

What we need from you to make this a success is:

Qualities:

• Works at least 50% of the time in the warehouse taking in furniture and other donations, preparing donations      for sale, and moving product to the floor. Some lifting is involved.

• Creates a customer focused environment working with our customers, clients, and donors

• Detail oriented

• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills

• Professional oral and written communication

• Ability to collaborate with co-workers, volunteers, and Community Service Workers

• Demonstrate ability to work with people from all walks of life and treat everyone with dignity and respect

• Has reliable transportation to and from work (personal or public)

Qualifications:

Qualifications:

• Bi-Lingual is preferred in  English and Spanish (read write speak, and understand) to communicate with      our customers, clients, and donors

• Ability to work occasionally in the evenings or on weekends to support or attend MAM events

• Experience with resale, thrift, retail, or warehouse tasks

• Demonstrated accuracy on cash register and related duties

• Leadership qualities with focus on firm, fair, and consistent guidelines for leading a team

• Reliable use of a smartphone

Education and Experience:

• Required - High school or GED graduate; will utilize math and reading/writing skills

• Two + years working in a resale or retail warehouse and storeroom floor environment

• One + years working as a cashier

Physical:

• Regularly required to stand for long periods, walk, and sit for extended periods.

• Regularly uses dexterity to operate cash register keys, keyboard, and doors. Work with merchandise, tools, or controls, and reaches with hands and arms.

• Must be able to hear and communicate verbally with customers and co-workers.

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds without assistance.

• Works primarily indoors, but some outdoor work may be required in all seasons.
