Part 2: How MAM Saved Our Christmas

December 28, 2017

Cynthia is a single mom, living with her mom Marcela, and daughter Sophie. Spared from flooding due to Hurricane Harvey, she suffered a lost job and incredible stress on her family.

(Read Part 1 of Cynthia's story here)

Cynthia was deeply grateful their home was dry and their family was safe. After the rains ended and the waters stopped rising, Cynthia and her mother Marcela took action. Every news station was reporting how donation centers needed supplies. They didn't have much, but they went to the store and bought diapers, cleaning supplies and laundry detergent.

When they arrived at MAM, they were welcomed and warmly thanked for their donations. The staff and volunteers were so appreciative and happy. Cynthia saw the large number of people waiting in the lobby, but everyone seemed calm, patient, and some even had smiles. It made her heart feel so good that her family was able to help in some small way.

Cynthia's story continues in Part 3.

This holiday season, you can help a family when there is nowhere else to turn.

With your donation, families will be able to stay in their homes and learn skills and tools that will help them be self-sufficient in the year to come.

Please consider a gift in the final days of 2017
