Congratulations to our ESL Program Manager!

For four weeks in June and July, Pete Zagone, Manager of the ESL & Citizenship Program on Blalock, attended the Bilingual Education Institute in Houston, studying to receive his CELTA Certification. CELTA stands for Certification in English Language Teaching to Speakers of Other Languages.

CELTA is a Cambridge University accredited ESL certification course that focuses on ESL instructional methods specific for adult learners. One of the program requirements is actual classroom instruction of students while being observed and critiqued by his CELTA instructors and his peers.
