MAM’s New Education & Workforce Training Center

We’re in the middle of something incredible at MAM: the construction of a new building, that is is a truly important milestone in MAM’s 40 years of service. In addition, renovations to our existing building will foster deeper community connections and generate additional revenue with the new Connections Café, a dedicated group volunteer space, and an expanded Resale Boutique.

The Hamill Foundation—MAM’s first foundation supporter over 20 years ago—has honored us once again with a lead gift to our capital campaign. In recognition, the new facility will be named the Hamill Education and Workforce Training Center.

MAM’s main campus expansion will create classroom, resale, and volunteer space needed to generate an additional $3M in annual support by 2029:

• $1M Earned Revenues - Resale​

• $1M Public Funding - Workforce and other ​

• $1M Volunteer Contribution - In-kind​

All to expand MAM’s services and impact.

The new facility will add to MAM’s campus: 

• 21,000 ft2 classrooms and workspace

• 4,000 ft2 partnership space

• 15,000 ft2 shell space for future buildout

This will allow MAM to:

• Increase Private Client Services by 80%

• Expand Training & Education Programs by 50%

• Serve 2,100 individuals with employment, vocational, and financial empowerment opportunities

• Serve 5,200 individuals with navigation and self-sufficiency wraparound services

CONSTRUCTION PROGRESS

• The parking lot now has lighting in the evenings.

• Starting April 14, one southbound lane on Blalock (outside the construction site) will be closed from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

  • This allows the construction team to safely connect the new building’s water and sewer lines to the city system.

  • Sidewalk access along Blalock will remain open, as the closed lane is the one nearest the median.

  • The work is expected to last two weeks.
