Including state benefits, such as SNAP, Medicaid, CHIP, Prenatal CHIP, Medicare, or TANAF.
Who do we help?
We help people without computer skills, who are unfamiliar with the application process, families with parents who are undocumented who have children who are US citizens and qualify for benefits.
Note: This service is NOT zip code restricted.
MAM is a Community Partner with Texas Health and Human Services to assist individuals and families with:
Medicaid for children, for pregnant women, for elderly and disabled
Texas Healthy Woman
TANF (Temporary Assistance For Needy Families)
Call 713-468-4516 ext. 103 or come to the reception window to make an appointment and learn what documents are needed to apply.
Complete the MAM intake form on the day of the appointment.
Be seen and assisted by a Case Navigator in completing the online applications
During the interview process we make referrals to other MAM services or to other MAM programs as needed
We follow up in approximately two weeks to see that the family has obtained benefits and in the case of Medicaid accessing health care.
Harris Health "Gold Card"
On Monday and Wednesday mornings from 8am-12pm we assist with Harris Health Financial Assistance Program commonly known as “Gold Card." The first 12 families are assisted with their applications.
MAM's offices are currently closed as a precaution against the coronavirus.
For that reason, we are unable to offer benefits application assistance at this moment.
