Counselors recommend a plan to manage the anxiety and fear produced by this virus as follows:

 

  • Learn the facts about COVID – 19

  • Identify where your anxiety is coming from

  • Avoid blaming or shaming others (we’re all in it together)

  • Don’t be afraid to ask for help, Identify your resources

  • Social distance is recommended but stay in touch with one another (connect via social media)

  • Be kind to yourself and to others (self-care and self-compassion)

Beatriz Haak is a family therapist born and raised in South America. Her professional interests revolve around trauma, attachment, emotional needs and how these affect the individual, his/her family, and the community at large.  

Beatriz holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the university of Saint Thomas, and a master’s degree in psychology from Our Lady of The Lake University. 

Beatriz is married and has three children. Her favorite activities are reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. She speaks English and Spanish.

Ali Solgi LCDC-I (Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern) is a graduate student working toward the completion of a master’s degree in Professional Counseling with a specialization in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.  He provides counseling services to adults in a family or individual setting.  Mr. Ali’s counseling approach includes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Crisis Intervention, Motivational Interview, and Dialectic Behavioral Therapy (DBT).  Specialties include life skills, anxiety, PTSD and crisis intervention, substance use disorder counseling, and relationships problem. 


Ali also has a Master's degree in Family counseling from Iran,Tehran. He was providing family counseling and individual counseling in Tehran. He speaks English and Farsi.
